HABIBA'S HELPFUL HINTS FOR A HAPPY
AND SAFE CLASS ENVIRONMENT
*Sorry, no refunds; no observers; no videotaping.
😷 Masks must be worn at all times.
*Please remove shoes upon entering the studio and leave them behind the screen. If there is no more room, please leave shoes in the changing area. Do not wear outside shoes on the dance floor. There is a coat rack available near front door and also in the changing area. Place other personal items, in the changing area.
* Please try to be on time. It is important for you to participate in the needed warm-up exercises so that you do not injure yourself. If you do arrive late, please find a spot in the back row so you are not blocking students who were there before you.
*It is not polite to step in front of others, even if you think you can dance there without getting in their way. If needed, the rows will be rotated so everyone has a chance to be in the front row.
*You are not permitted to perform or teach Habiba’s choreographies without permission
* Please understand that there will be times in class when we will be reviewing material you may already have been taught. Please resist the urge to answer other student’s questions. Your approach or answer may be different from the point Habiba is trying to make. Questions relating to form, choreography, etc, should be directed to Habiba. Conduct yourself as you would in any classroom setting.
*Please do not chew gum. It is a potential choking hazard and aesthetically unappealing.
* Water is available for purchase for $1.00. Bottles are stored in the refrigerator. Please leave your dollar in the mailbox on the wall.
WHAT TO WEAR TO CLASS:
Top: Form fitting T-shirt, top, leotard - nothing too loose or too big. You do not need to bare your midriff.
Bottom: Any type of pant that allow for freedom of movement i.e., yoga pants, leggings, stretch pants. Nothing too tight and restrictive. No jeans.Nothing too loose and baggy. No pants that are so long that your feet are hidden.
No skirts. Your feet and your knees need to be visible to be sure they are in proper alignment. This is very important.
A hip scarf is recommended but not necessary. The scarf need not have beads or coins. A simple shawl with some fringe will do. If you decide to wear a scarf, please be sure it is in good repair so that an excessive amount of beads and coins aren’t falling from it.
If you have issues regarding these rules or any other concerns, they should be addressed to Habiba in private.
